Montana Polystyrene Primer Spray is the perfect tool to create a neutral base on polystyrene and styrofoam based surfaces, over which you can apply further coatings and colours. It assists in adhesion, maximises coverage of further coatings, seals porous surfaces and resists against agitation of further solvent based coatings when all surface holes are covered.
A smooth, even application is effortless thanks to the Montana Flat Jet Medium cap which is standard on the can. Due to the varied chemical make-up of polystyrene, we suggest trialing on a non-visible area of your material to test for compatibility. Remember to keep your polystyrene projects away from extreme heat or flames. Ensure all surfaces are completely sealed and air holes closed and coated. The rougher and more air holes the substrate has, the more coats required for complete protection against further solvent based coatings. Curing time is 24 or more hours depending on ambient temperature and moisture levels. Once cured, you can apply spray products from the Montana Gold, Black, Tech or Effect ranges, and it will increase their intensity and longevity.
