Montana Crackle Effect Spray Paint offers a unique crackle effect, perfect for achieving a vintage or distressed look. It is ideal for art, hobby or DIY use, and brings a creative edge to your projects. Whether you’re upcycling furniture, creating artwork, or adding texture to decorations, this spray delivers impressive, eye-catching results.
A base coat is essential for the crackle effect to work, ideally from the Montana Gold range. The thicker the base coat, the more pronounced the crackle effect will be. Allow the base coat to dry for at least 45 minutes, but no more than 24 hours, before applying the crackle effect (drying time may vary depending on temperature, humidity, and coat thickness). For best results, apply the spray in cross-coating motions (left to right, then up and down). Once applied, the cracking process begins, revealing the unique crackle pattern. For more intense crackling effects, apply a second layer after 5 minutes. After around 24 hours, once fully dry and cured, it can be top-coated with other acrylic paints.
If applying on polystyrene, pre-priming with Montana Polystyrene Primer is required. Be sure to seal the surface completely.
